<P align=center><STRONG><FONT face=黑体 color=lime size=5>牙雕是一门古老的传统艺术，也是一门民间工艺美术。牙为大象身上最坚固的部分，其光洁如玉、耐用、珍贵勘与宝玉石媲美，因此象牙又有有机宝石之美誉。象牙雕刻艺术品，以坚实细密，色泽柔润光滑的质地，精美的雕刻艺术，倍受收藏家珍爱，成为古玩中独具特色的品种之一。在我国诸多工艺美术中，象牙雕刻是具有独特风华的一门。象牙属于有机质、表面滑润莹澈如玉，纹理细密规则、易受刀，用之雕刻精巧的器物，即成天然与人工斧凿之美的结合。象牙雕刻分为南北两派，北派指的是北京牙雕，主要是宫廷制品。当时康熙、雍正、乾隆三朝皇帝都非常爱好艺术，在宫中就有专制象牙制品的作坊。宫廷雕刻艺匠做工细腻，人物、花鸟纹饰多仿照绘画笔意，着色填彩均有一定章法，逐渐形成了华丽、庄严、纤细、富贵、典雅的风格。南派指广州牙雕。由于广州是一个沿海口岸，外来的象牙首先抵达广州，广州逐渐开始象牙雕刻艺术。广州象牙制作侧重雕工，讲究雕刻和漂白色彩的装饰，多以质白莹润、精镂细刻、玲珑剔透见长。<BR></FONT></STRONG></P>
